According to a private mail thread with Sebastien, sorting the table by a vtkStringArray is not feasible. But clicking on the column header in Qt is still possible (as opposed to e.g. the handling of a structured coordinates column). The sort order indicator even changes, but the rows don't. ParaView should keep an eye on memory better, and should give the user a warning that it is low on memory. At the very least, it should put up a warning right before dying. I would think that a warning at 90% or 95% full would be acceptable.
On production clusters there is no swap space - thus, you run out of memory, you die. In really confusing, frustrating way. Without letting the user know.

The hscth reader is invoked for files ending ".hscth". It turns out that "hsct?" should also be matched, where "?" is a wildcard for a single character. The first minor bug fix is to match this second pattern for hscth files.
The second, more serious, issue is that when I selected the file to open and then specifically selected to use the hscth reader to open it, I got a failure with an error message referring to the visit silo reader. In the end, I could not open the file until I renamed it to end with ".hscth".https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/12052Loading plugins are not captured in python trace2018-08-28T09:39:50-04:00Kitware RobotLoading plugins are not captured in python trace**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=12052). It cannot read an ensight file larger than 2GB. The solution has been discussed here:

From Stephane Ploix
It seems that there is a pb with the installation rules of VisItBridge :
The file ParaViewConfig.cmake points to the build directory for the file VisItBridgeUse.cmake, and this file is not copied in the install dir.
The offending line in ParaViewConfig.cmake is
SET(VISITBRIDGE_USE_FILE "/path/to/build/dir/Utilities/VisItBridge/VisItBridgeUse.cmake")
