When you delete a track from the animation view (which right now you can only do by removing all of the keyframes within the animation inspector), the space that it was taken up by the tracks is not consumed by the panel. The current time line still descends down to where the track used to be. If there was a scroll bar, it scrolls down to empty space where the track used to be.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5511In-place interpolation selection2019-03-05T10:47:48-05:00Kitware RobotIn-place interpolation selection**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5511). Open up the Animation Keyframes dialog box for one of the tracks in the Animation View. In order to modify the interpolation, a dialog box is popped up. There are several playback controls critical to set up an animation: start and end times/indices, play mode, and frames/duration. Since the Animation View will undoubtedly be the mode of choice for setting up animations, it is inconvenient to go to the Animation Inspector to set these values.
Ideally these values would be added to the top of the animation view (similar to how they are shown in http://www.paraview.org/ParaQ/index.php/Animation_GUI). However, there is a good chance that these GUI components will not fit well in the panel. In this case, maybe the animation view could become a tabbed panel with one tab showing the tracks and the other showing the playback controls and animation settings. Another option would be to remove the track selection from the animation inspector and then default the location of the two views to be on top of each other (i.e., the dockable windows will be tabbed).https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5508No zoom controls in animation view2019-03-05T10:47:48-05:00Kitware RobotNo zoom controls in animation view**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5508). There is no way to adjust the "zoom level" of the tracks in the animation view. That is, the tracks are always shown from start time to end time. There needs to be a way to zoom in to show only a fraction of the actual animation time.
The design document at http://www.paraview.org/ParaQ/index.php/Animation_GUI gives a specification of what these zoom controls should look like.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5507Out-of-order keyframes2019-03-05T10:47:48-05:00Kitware RobotOut-of-order keyframes**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5507). The Animation Keyframes dialog box allows you to set arbitrary values for the time of each keyframe. This is good, but results in the possibility of keyframes that are out of order.
The keyframes should be reordered whenever the time of one is moved outside of the range of the surrounding keyframes. The correct interpolation used becomes a bit ambiguous. Just pick values that make sense based on the existing interpolation. They are easy enough to change if they are wrong.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5506Cannot slide keyframe values in animation view track2019-03-05T10:47:48-05:00Kitware RobotCannot slide keyframe values in animation view track**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5506). Currently representations require that the input is set before adding the representation to the view. Also the representation objects are not created until the input is set. This restriction can be easily lifted by setting up the pipeline and strategies only after the representation has been added to a view and has an input, without any restrictions on when the objects are actually created.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5501Display Lists are not being properly generated and called during polygonal me...2019-03-05T10:47:55-05:00Kitware RobotDisplay Lists are not being properly generated and called during polygonal mesh rendering.**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5501). Using ParaView 3 from CVS (and also the 3-1-0 branch) attempting to render polygonal meshes results is low framerates. This can be reproduced by creating a sphere source and setting the phi and theta resolutions to 1024. This will create a sphere with about 2 million triangles. Interacting with this sphere will produce framerates of about 1 frame per second.
Using "OpenGL Profiler" on OS X seems to show that the display is being created but never called as evidenced by the number of calls to glFloat3fv and glNormal3fv while glCallList is never called even when immediate mode rendering is OFF.
This same test under ParaView 2.6.1 produced framerates of 25 to 30 FPS. LODs thresholds were turned OFF on all machines and versions of the programs.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5498load state with Exodus gives errors2019-03-05T10:47:55-05:00Kitware Robotload state with Exodus gives errors**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5498). When you create a filter on a source that has a solid color, that color is not inherited by the new filter. Here is an example.
1. Create a source like sphere, cylinder, or whatever.
2. Go to the display tab and assign a color to the object.
3. Create a clip filter.
4. When you apply the clip filter, the resulting object is white rather than inheriting the original object's color.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5493Save Data in Xdmf format does not correclty save vector data2019-03-05T10:47:55-05:00Kitware RobotSave Data in Xdmf format does not correclty save vector data**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5493). When you connect to a server and you enter values for it, the next time you connect it uses the original default values rather than the last values you entered. This is somewhat irritating, for example, if you always want a job of a certain size that is different than the default. It is really irritating for many Sandia users where you have to enter some special 10 digit number representing a funding source that is always different than the default.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/5486File browser navigate forward stack backward2019-03-05T10:47:55-05:00Kitware RobotFile browser navigate forward stack backward**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=5486). Open the file browser (by selecting to load data or something) and do the following. Use the browser to descend down into several directories. Now use the navigate back to go back up the directory tree. This button will correctly navigate back up one directory at a time. Once you get back to the top, start using the navigate forward button. You should be able to navigate back up one directory at a time. Instead, the first click places you deep into the directory stack and subsequent operations moves up the directory like the back button did. I was stepping through the PV code and I noticed that the vtkPVProgressHandler is not using its MPI-enabled functionality. This is because vtkPVProgressHandler.cxx is not including vtkToolkits.h, which defines VTK_USE_MPI. Thus, the class is always compiled as if MPI does not exist.
