This is very helpful to the research community as well as for research-oriented funding sources like DOE that want to show ParaView impact.
However, this page is missing from the recent ParaView web page redesign. Can we bring this back? Or at the very least provide in an obvious place a way to reference the ParaView software in a scientific journal.Cory Quammencory.quammen@kitware.comCory Quammencory.quammen@kitware.comhttps://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/14708Index and search features do not work in online help2024-02-06T18:38:20-05:00Kitware RobotIndex and search features do not work in online help**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=14708). The ParaView online help window has tabs for index and search. The index tab is completely empty. There appear to be no indices. The search tab allows you to supposedly search the help documents for a word, but the search always comes up empty no matter what string I search for.

The problem arises when you want to select blocks on a complex geometry with many blocks and when it is not possible to have a point of view showing all searched blocks: the "Select blocks" mode gives only VISIBLE blocks that are inside or intersect the rubberband frame drawn when dragging the mouse.
It would be nice to have a "Select blocks through" that gives ALL blocks inside a Frustum that works like for the cells in the "Select cells through" mode.5.13 (Summer 2024)https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/22426Change FIle menu action requires extension hint to be defined in the reader2024-02-06T10:14:55-05:00guillaume PeillexChange FIle menu action requires extension hint to be defined in the readerHi,

When using `Polar Axes` with `Auto Pole` deactivated, the `Transform` operation does not seem to work.
In the image below, i created a sphere then translated it to coordinate [5,2,1].
I then activated the `Polar Axes` and deactivated its `Auto Pole`. The polar grid is centered at [0,0,0]. After modifying the `Transform` items to coordinates [5,2,1] the `Polar Axes` is still centered at [0,0,0].
IMHO it seems to be a bug.

Another way to reproduce it:
Using the Prism plugin remote server creates a crash. I was remote server with 16 ranks. No warning (no popup, nothing in the output view, no nothing.). I then tried running forward in time, and ended up with the following crash (possibly related to #21847). Crash is client side, as the server just says the socket died.
* master (v5.11.1-RC1-906-gbbaa7a81), Linux, remote server (16 ranks).
* Tools/ Manage Plugins. Prism. Load Selected.
* Load SymetricImpact2.hscth.
* Apply Table to Points filter. X Column == XPOSITION, Y Column == YPOSITION, Z Column == ZPOSITION. Apply. (Is this correct? Does it make sense to map X, Y and Z to Prism space?)
* Select RenderView, and turn on visibility for Table to Points filter.
* Load proxium.asc. Apply.
* Select PrismView. Turn on eyeball for Table to Points filter. We are attempting to put the data from the the SymetricImpact2.hscth dataset and proxium.asc into a PrismView.

The file is looking for is under the ParaView/Documentation directory,
```
find ../.. -iname ParaViewDocumentationInitializer.h
but that directory is not included in the included directories.
Can be fixed by not compiling the documentation
```
cmake_dependent_option(PARAVIEW_ENABLE_EMBEDDED_DOCUMENTATION
"Build the ParaView help menu documentation for ParaView and its plugins" ON
"PARAVIEW_USE_QT" ON)
mark_as_advanced(PARAVIEW_ENABLE_EMBEDDED_DOCUMENTATION)

# This is done after the above piece of code that sets the application_gui_xmls
# variable. Documentation/CMakeLists.txt depends on it.

* Start ParaView 5.12.0-RC2
* Sources -> Alphabetical -> Sphere
* In the properties panel, enable Advanced properties. Check the "Enable Ray Tracing" View property.
* Click and drag in the render window. It takes several seconds for interaction to begin and then the frame rate is rather low.
Previously, in ParaView 5.11.2, interaction would begin immediately and the frame rate was pretty good.

* Make a sandbox directory. Inside there, add can.ex2 to the directory, then run python3 makeLotsOfFiles.py. Tarball attached. We now have 256 versions of can.exo and another 256 versions of can as restart 2.
* Master (v5.11.1-1525-g2c4973080c), builtin server, Linux.
* Tools/ Manage Plugins. Load the Legacy Exodus reader.
* Load canLotsO.e.256.*. Lets use the Legacy Exodus reader first.
* Load times for me are 0 seconds to get to the apply button. Time to then load is 65 seconds. 65 seconds total.
* (You may need to reboot in order to flush caches here. As I am working with dozens of coworkers on this disk, I just wait 5 or 10 minutes.)
* Load canLotsO.e.256.*. Lets use the IOSS reader.
* Load times for me are 90 seconds to get to the apply button, then 32 seconds to load, total 122 seconds total.
The IOSS reader needs to be as fast as the Exodus reader.
Marking showstopper as this shouldn't go past 5.13.0.

If desired, I can get this in a debugger and see if I can figure out what is going on. I made a simple legacy VTK file with an unstructured grid containing two squares, one defined as a VTK_QUAD and one as a VTK_PIXEL. I then loaded the file into Paraview and ran the reflect filter.
The bottom one, which is the VTK_QUAD, worked fine. The top one, using VTK_PIXEL, gets corrupted.
