When you first open the Find Data dialog box, it is always blank regardless of what the current selection is. Instead, the dialog should be populated as best as possible with the current selection. At a minimum, the spreadsheet should show the data of the selection and the other buttons (selection color, labels) should reflect the current state of the selection.
If the selection also happens to be a query selection, the Find Data should be initialized to have that query filled in.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10961Invert Selection does not work for Query selections2019-03-05T10:39:11-05:00Kitware RobotInvert Selection does not work for Query selections**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10961). ---
When you open the Find Data dialog, it grabs the active object in the pipeline browser to perform the selection on. That is good, but then that object is fixed. You should be able to change it. Rather than display the object name in a label, it should be a combo box that allows you to change it.
When you change the object in the Find Data dialog, it should probably change the active object in the pipeline browser (and vice versa).

---
The line chart view is only able to plot series from a single block at a time. This is a very important use case for the line chart because filters like plot selection over time will place the data for each selected element in its own block.
Here is a simple example of a good use case:
1. Load out can.ex2, load all variables, apply.
2. Go to the last time step.
3. Edit -> Find Data.
4. Find all cells with EQPS >= 2.
5. After the selection is run, click the "Plot Selection Over Time" button.
6. Apply the filter and observe the plot.
Although many cells were selected, only one actually shows in the line chart view at a time. To view others, you have to go to the display panel and select different "blocks." This is unacceptable. You often need to compare the series against each other.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10958Edit/Find data command - find and calculate min and max variable for each tim...2018-08-28T09:39:51-04:00Kitware RobotEdit/Find data command - find and calculate min and max variable for each time step of an animation**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10958). The Edit/ Find data command is a fabulous tool. However, it really needs a few more features.
* The ability to find the min and/or max variable, along with cell number, at a time step. Mean would be really nice to have also.
* Be able to take this min and/or max and display it in tabular format. Allow it to be 2d plotted. Allow it to be written out as a CSV file.

The Edit/ Find data command is a fabulous tool. However, it really needs a few more features.
* Ability for the user to select (using the mouse or p key) on a cell or point, and have the data display. I.e., merging of the spreadsheet view (where you select data with a mouse) and the find data query results (where you select data with a keyboard). Note that this requires the edit/find data dialog box to stay open when interacting witht he 3d window, but that is another bug.

* ParaView trunk, Windows, local server.
* Wavelet, apply.
* Edit view settings. Parallel projection.

<<Bug>> Visibility should have gone off for the wavelet when a slice filter is applied.
* Turn off visibility on Wavelet
* Calculator.
- Formula == mag(coords)
- Result Array Name == calculatorMag
- Apply.
* Split screen horizontal, spreadsheet view.
* Select the 3d view of the slice.
* Turn visibility ON for slice, Off for calculator.
<< Note >> Now, the spreadsheet includes data from the calculator, but the 3d view is from the slice.
* (With visibility on the slice filter), Filters/ Plot data. Apply.
* Display tab. Turn all variables on.
* Select the RTData. Note that the range for this data is about 84 to 276
* Select Bottom-Right (for the RTData).
* View settings for the 2d plot.
* Right Axis, Show Axis.
<Important bug> Note that the right axis is deleting the right character of numbers. Thus, 200 looks like 20.
<Important bug> Note that the plot of RTData goes off the top of the screen, and only down to 150. The second to last value should be 90. Furthermore, the plot goes off the top of the screen, which it should not do.
<Bug> Back on the 2d plot, Display tab, select RTData. (If necessary, select something else, then go back to RTData.) Note that Chart Axes at the bottom shows Bottom-Left. This is incorrect - RTData is currently showing on the bottom right.
I am setting this bug to high, since I believe data is being misrepresented. Also, sorry it is so long getting it to show. I bet some steps above could be deleted, but I don't know which ones.

commit 8f3fe99a23c9fdb74cff7d3c2a374fa157239c68 added dialog to prompt to change filenames while loading a state file.
Currently, the labels displayed in the pipeline browser are preserved, regardless whether one replaces or keeps the file names stored in the state file. That does make sense if a user has altered it prior to saving a state file, i.e. display name != basename(file name). But in case the user hasn't, it would be very convenient if the label in the pipeline browser would get updated with the new file name.
Maybe it is best to let the user decide by presenting him a checkbox in the change filename dialog.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10893Indication of delay between interactive and still render2019-03-05T10:39:18-05:00Kitware RobotIndication of delay between interactive and still render**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10893). > Or more seriously, the overlay could be present during all interactive rendering and just start "counting down" (I still prefer a clock-like wedge to a countdown, especially given that it's a short 2-second interval) when the mouse is released. That way the overlay's presence indicates interactive rendering, a modified form would indicate the still rendering is being performed, and its absence indicates that the image is a completed still rendering.
