BUG: caught an error in the implementation of the parallel update formulas (cf. Sandia report SAND2008-6212 for notations): in the implementation, n was used instead of n. NB: this bug was not found earlier because it does not result in a calculation error when the input data set displays similar statistical properties (mean, in particular) across processes. This was the case for all parallel test cases.
