Visual Studio 2017 (version 15.3.3) wrongly diagnosed as MSVC_VERSION = 1900
I am working on Windows 7 and have tried cmake versions 3.9.6 and 3.10.0-rc5, but both have the same problem.
cmake shows this output:
The CXX compiler identification is MSVC 19.11.25507.1
The C compiler identification is MSVC 19.11.25507.1

... but MSVC_VERSION
is set to 1900
, which according to https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/variable/MSVC_VERSION.html corresponds to VS 14, not 15. This apparently is the reason for the problems reported in #16737 (closed).
